Money Saving Home Decor Tips from CB JENI Homes

Have you been keeping up with the latest home decor trends for the season? We’re quite partial to adding touches of Tangerine Tango to CB JENI Homes’ townhomes and singles family homes for a color pop effect.

If there’s a new design trend you want to try, or if you’re in the mood to spruce up your home’s existing decor, go for it! Home decorating is fun, exciting and can be done inexpensively if you shop smart.

Here are a few tips for decorating on a budget:

It’s all about the art.

Art is a great decorative element to play up because it adds so much to the overall look and feel of a room. It can be used as a form of self expression and it can tie into the color scheme you’re playing up in the room. Try incorporating art into your decor by finding inexpensive frames in colors or styles that you love. By adding a frame to pictures, posters or prints, you can make even the most simple art pop!

Make one item stand out.

Create a focal point in a room that catches the eye and draws people in. This item could be a large art print, a statement lamp or vase, an oversized area rug, a unique seating piece, you name it. Allow this piece to tie the entire room together and really set the stage for the effect and look you’re going for. By focusing on one main statement piece, you can save money by using simple decor throughout the rest of the room.

Play up color groups.

It’s all about splashes of color these days. Try incorporating colors you love in your living spaces with items that you already have. Find books with similar colored bindings and group them together on coffee or end tables for an added color effect, or group similar colors of art work or pictures to play up a particular color. When it comes to color, the most important thing is to have fun with it!

Use the cushion effect.

If you have an old or outdated sofa, love seat or chair, spruce it up with the cushion effect. Find fun throw pillows that play up the vibe of the room you’re decorating and add them to your tired seating areas. One of the best things about throw pillows is that they come in a variety of sizes, shapes, colors, patterns and textures; they can be relatively inexpensive, too!

Bargain blooms are the best blooms.

Flowers add a fresh, fragrant vibe to any room but it’s no secret that keeping fresh, floral arrangements in a home can get pricey. Give your wallet a break by using artificial flowers whenever and wherever possible. If you find good quality artificial blooms, no one will notice the difference.

When it comes to decorating your townhome or single family home, the most important thing is to have fun and express yourself as well as your personal tastes. Redecorating on a budget is possible; all you have to do is find inexpensive ways to incorporate the decor trends you love.

Get ready, get set, decorate!
