Taking place this October 4th and 5th, the semi-annual Cottonwood Art Festival in Richardson is a great opportunity for families as well as emerging artists to get inspired by the nation’s top visual artists. This prestigious art show at Cottonwood Park is free for all ages and will feature 1,400 artists this year where jurors will select to exhibit over 240 works.
Art, Music, Food And Spirits
Aside from a great exposition featuring a wide array of art, the Cottonwood Art Festival will also have jazz, rock, country, blues, jazz, swing and folk music performed by local bands such as Crystal Yates, Zack King Acoustic, and The John Adams Group. You can relax and enjoy the live music at the Lakeside Courtyard where you will find food and beverages as well. For the young ones, an ArtStop Children’s Area will give your young Picassos a chance to explore their creativity in a series of workshops and activities. The Cottonwood Art Festival has been one of Richardson’s most acclaimed festivals for over forty years and this year is sure to be lots of fun for all ages!
This Year’s Featured Artist
As a featured artist, Brice McCasland’s art will represent the Cottonwood Art Festival marketing items, including t-shirts and posters. He is originally from Lubbock, Texas but now resides with his family in McKinney working on a collection of mixed media collages, paintings and illustrations that evoke his interest in story telling. An assortment of his pieces will be showcased at the festival as well.
