It’s time to break out the autumn candles and pumpkin spice lattes! Fall feels like the perfect time to gather with friends, get to know new neighbors and create lasting family memories. Just like the falling leaves, community festivals and events abound!
Maybe you never miss a funnel cake at the State Fair of Texas, or you seek out beauty at the annual Autumn at the Dallas Arboretum. You love thrills, so your fall bucket list includes Six Flags Over Texas for the kid-friendly Boo Fest or its spookier nighttime Fright Fest.

Celina
Beware! Of the Square in Celina
Celina proudly claims itself the official “Halloween Capital of North Texas.” This historic square attracts thousands of costumed kids and adults, with the perfect mix of spooky and sweet festivities.
Frisco
Pumpkins on the Prairie
Grace Avenue United Methodist Church in Frisco hosts a month-long pumpkin extravaganza seven days a week. Come for hayrides, a bounce house, face painting and more. See the calendar for special dates, including trunk-or-treating.
Halloween at PGA Frisco
This new major attraction in Frisco is hosting its first Halloween events for golfers and non-golfers alike. Every Friday, head with family and friends to the free Spooky Movie Series. Sample some hauntingly good cocktail samples at the 21+ Halloween “Boos” Crawl. For the kids, get tickets to the Halloween Par-Tee with pumpkin putting, carnival games, trick-or-treating and more!
Trick or Treat the Frisco Square
The Frisco Square is a hub of activity and this afternoon of Halloween fun is no exception. This free event includes carnival games, inflatables, horse wagon rides, spooky treats and more for the whole family.
Heritage Halloween in Frisco
Open to all ages, this jump-scare-free event at the Frisco Heritage Center will have a scavenger hunt, goodie bags, tintype photographer, ghost stories and a fortune teller, plus crafts and games.
McKinney
Halloween at the Heart
The Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney hosts its annual fundraiser/family event. It includes trick-or-treating along the eerie Dinosaurs Live! Live-Size Animatronic Dinosaurs trail, plus an evening full of fun fall activities.
McKinney Halloween Events
Teens and adults can explore the darker side of the library at Dead After Dark via the traditions of Dia de Los Muertos. In October, treat or treat at Towne Lake Park in the afternoon and stay for the evening concert. Head to the annual floating Pumpkin Dunk at the Apex Center. The library is hosting Halloween Haunt for all ages.
Good Ol’ Days Fest in McKinney
The Stix Icehouse in McKinney opens up for family-friendly fun with 35+ local vendors, live music, pumpkin painting and family competitions.
Plano
Screamin’ Green Hauntoween in Plano
Crayola Experience in Plano invites you to its annual event CHALK-full of spooky happenings and 25 hands-on events, including a themed scavenger hunt, spook-tastic crafts, character photo ops and more! Plus, every weekend, they welcome costumed kiddos for trick-or-treating.
Rest in Peace (RIP) Plano
See 15th Street transformed with spectacularly spooky photo ops, creepy characters, thrilling performances and live music. Your favorite fall-festival foods will be available for purchase. And new this year – a giant blackout maze in Haggard Park parking lot!

Head to the Fort Worth Zoo for trick-or-treating, Halloween-themed entertainment, animal shows and more! Plus, you can enter a decorated pumpkin before Oct. 1 for display. Purchase tickets beginning Sept. 30.
Ick or Treat
Head to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History for their annual, family-friendly delightfully creepy event.
Grapevine
PumpkinFest in Grapevine
Each weekend, Meadowmere Park offers fall festivities, from a pumpkin patch, photo ops and a Friday the 13th scary movie montage through the park trail.
Haltom City
Halloween at Truck Yard Alliance in Haltom City
Come for candy and spooky drinks for the grown-ups plus prizes for a family costume contest, plus one for dogs, too!
North Richland Hills
Community Pumpkin Patch
Come out for your free pumpkin and photo ops at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Hurst, Texas, just east of North Richland Hills.
Tricky Treat Trail & Haunted Stacks
Held in North Richland Hills at The Link Plaza, show up in costume for family-friendly fun. Trick or treat, meander around the haunted stacks at the library, play games, enjoy live entertainment and more.
Pumpkin Catapulting Contest
Test your engineering skills and creativity by designing a mini pumpkin catapult at North Richland Hills Library. Compete as a team or individual.
